By the Creek

by vanessa trost

Your love for me and what I be
is endless in its ways, it’s not a sea
it’s like a stream of water
I don't know what brought her
where she comes from
or what will be the outcome
all I know is I am here by the creek
supplying my life, hoping it never gets weak.

Vanessa Trost is a writer, translator and editor living in Brooklyn currently working on a bi-lingual collection of socially critical poems and essays about love and life in German and English. She frequently cheats on the poems in her life with cozy mysteries which always threaten to kill the poems, but never succeed.
